The Asatizah Youth Network (AYN) comprises dynamic religious teachers who are trained in digital media outreach, counselling and youth resilience work. The AYN is always here for you! You can message them on social media with your questions, drop in on them at selected mosques and learn Islam from them online through engaging materials such as vlogs.


Ustazah Zhahirah
Mohammad Saleh

Ustazah Zhahirah is a millennial ustazah who is passionate about helping others. When she is not doing corporate communications at Islamic Scholars and Teachers Association of Singapore (PERGAS), you can find her travelling as well as collecting and reading books.

She has a Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Fiqh & Usul Fiqh) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).


Ustaz Muhammad Fizar

Ustaz Fizar is a gregarious religious teacher with a heart of gold. He’s Executive Director at a non-profit social organisation called BAPA, that conducts religious classes and actively participates in humanitarian aid missions to countries affected by natural disasters, war or economic crisis. He loves travelling, cats 🐈 and food!

Ustaz Fizar holds a Diploma in Arabic Language and a Graduate Diploma in Dialogue of Civilizations from the Syeikh Ahmed Kuftaro Foundation, Damascus, Syria as well as a Diploma in Counselling and Psychology from APMI Kaplan. Prior to his tertiary education, Ustaz Fizar spent two years at Rubat Tareem Asy-Syatiri, Yemen studying traditional Islamic learning.


Ustaz Khairul Anwar

Ustaz Khairul Anwar loves cooking and connecting with people of all backgrounds. He is passionate about interfaith work and believes that our diversity is our strength. Ustaz Khairul Anwar leads the Dakwah & Community Development team at Al-Islah Mosque in Punggol.


Ustaz Muhammad Fakhrur Radzi

Ustaz Fakhrur is an executive at the Youth & Community Education Strategic Unit in Muis. He is loves watching documentaries and solving strategic games. He has lost a whopping 30 kg in less than a year, inspiring many people with his sheer determination and perseverance.

Ustaz Fakhrur graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Syariah Law from Al-Azhar University, Cairo.


Ustaz Muhammad Imran

Ustaz Imran is an avid reader who is passionate about developing himself by connecting with people and listening to their wisdom and life lessons. He is the head of Office of Imam and Corporate Development at Al-Ansar Mosque.

He holds a Bachelor Degree in Syariah from Islamic University of Madinah.

Ustaz Mohammad Syazwan El Rani

Ustaz Mohammad Syazwan El Rani is an avid traveller who loves to read and learn new things. Some of you may know him as the engaging Ustaz Puasapedia on LearnIslam.Sg. Ustaz Syazwan is in the Da’wah (Outreach) Division of Muslim Converts’ Association of Singapore. He spent 12 years of his studies at Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah.

He later furthered his studies in the Faculty of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage at the International Islamic University Malaysia, majoring in Fiqh & Usul Fiqh (principles of Fiqh) and minoring in Comparative Religion.

He has been teaching the aLIVE curriculum for close to a decade and is also currently a Murabbi (instructor) for the ADIL programmes.

Ustaz Muhammad Tarmizi
Abdul Wahid

Ustaz Tarmizi, or better known as Ustaz Mizi Wahid, inspires thousands daily on his social media platforms with his beautiful reminders and inspiring words of wisdom. He is the founder of Safinah Institute, Singapore’s most popular educational provider for English Islamic online and offline classes.

In 2017, Ustaz Mizi released his literary masterpiece ‘The Art of Letting God’, a book about surrendering all your broken pieces to Him, one prayer at a time

He graduated from the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Cairo, majoring in the field of Shariah (Islamic Jurisprudence). Ustaz Mizi is an honorary council member of Islamic Scholars and Teachers Association of Singapore (PERGAS) and is an official Naib Kadi appointed by the President of the State.


Ustaz Ahmad Faritz
Mohamed Hairudin

Ustaz Faritz loves connecting with youth and seeks to empower them to be compassionate and caring contributors to society. To that end, he has conducted many enrichment and training programmes, in collaboration with organizations such as the Muslim Youth Forum (MYF).

Ustaz Faritz is a Public Relations Officer at the Health Office of the UAE Embassy. After spending 12 years of his education at Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah, he furthered his studies at Al-Azhar University and was conferred the B.A. of Islamic Jurisprudence.



Ustaz Ridhwan
Mohd Basor

A proud millennial Singaporean, Ustaz Ridhwan enjoys visiting other countries to broaden his horizons. At home, he occasionally enjoys baking earl grey cookies. Ustaz Ridhwan is a community worker and a content creator.

In 2015, he was awarded the Public Service Excellence Award. He believes in positively engaging with others in challenging hate and extremism. He works closely with members of the Asatizah Youth Network in producing meaningful and virtually engaging content.

He is also a volunteer at the Mendaki Club where he currently serves as the Assistant Secretary. Previously, he was the aftercare youth mentor, providing guidance and support for teens who have been released from home.

Trained in social sciences & Islamic thought, Ustaz Ridhwan spent 13 years of education in local madrasahs, before pursuing his Political Science degree at the National University of Singapore. He then further his postgraduate studies on Islamic Political Thought at the International Islamic University Malaysia.


Ustaz Muhammad Fadhlullah

Ustaz Fadhlullah enjoys teaching and sharing his Islamic knowledge at various local Islamic institutions. He is a Senior Executive Officer at the education division at Darul Arqam Singapore.

He spent 12 years of his studies at Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah. He later furthered his studies on Islamic Jurisprudence at Al-Azhar University for 4 years and graduated in 2010.

In his free time, he loves swimming, cycling and rollerblading.

Ustaz Irwan Hadi
Mohd Shuhaimy

Ustaz Irwan is the eloquent Deputy Director of Office of the Mufti and Religious Policy and Regulation in Muis. It’s hard not to love reading and listening to his enlightened opinions on the contemporary issues facing the Singapore Muslim community.

For example, in 2017, Ustaz Irwan categorically declared that spousal abuse, of any form, is not allowed in Islam, in response to an opinion that went viral online. His detailed and well-reasoned explanation earned much applause from Singaporean netizens.

Ustaz Irwan completed his degree in Islamic law Al-Azhar University in Cairo, where he was on the Dean’s list in the final year. During his studies, he managed to gain ijazahs in traditional Islamic sciences from scholars such as the former Grand Mufti of Egypt, Sheikh Dr Ali Jum'ah and Sheikh Ahmad Taha Rayyan.

Ustaz Irwan was awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UK to pursue his Masters of Law at the School of Oriental and African, University of London, where he obtained an overall distinction. He is currently pursuing his Juris Doctor degree at the Singapore University of Social Sciences.


Ustaz Md Khalid
Md Rafi

Ustaz Khalid loves contemporary Fiqh and actively conducts lessons and seminars on various religious and motivational topics. He is passionate about engaging the public through interreligious dialogues to promote mutual respect and understanding for a progressive community.

Ustaz Mohammad Khalid is an Executive Imam and Head of Islamic Learning at Muhajirin Mosque. He holds a Bachelor in Syariah from University of Madinah and a Masters degree from RSIS, Nanyang Technological University in Asian Studies, specialising in ‘Studies in Inter-Religious Relations in Plural Societies’.

He is also serving as a part-time Hakam in the Syariah Court of Singapore.


Ustazah Nadia Hanim
Abdul Rahman

Ustazah Nadia Hanim is passionate about empowering different members of the community. With her Advanced Diploma in Special Education, she developed the Quranic Studies curriculum for MIJ Special Education Hub, a full-time English-language holistic program for children with special needs.

She believes that women should raise each other up and not tear each other down, and has given talks and organized events for ladies from all over the world. Ustazah Nadia currently heads Al-Wafa’, an institute that aims to provide moral and spiritual guidance and illuminate souls through knowledge and wisdom.

Before graduating with B.A. Usuluddin from Al-Azhar University, she studied women’s fiqh extensively at Daruz Zahra in Tarim Hadramaut, Yemen. Ustazah Nadia is also an honorary council member of Islamic Scholars and Teachers Association of Singapore (PERGAS).
