Assyafaah Mosque

Built under the Mosque Building Fund (MBF) scheme and completed in 2004, the mosque is a focal point of community activities, catering to the social and spiritual needs of the Muslims living in the Sembawang area. The mosque is a 4-storey building and can accommodate an estimated 4,000 congregants.

It replaces two mosques that used to exist in the area but had to give way for redevelopment – Masjid Naval Base (built in 1968 at the junction of Canberra Road and now defunct Delhi Road), and Masjid Jumah Sembawang (established along Sembawang Road in the 1920s by Indian Muslim migrants who came to Singapore to work in the Naval Base).
